QNAP has announced three AMD Ryzen based NASes. The TS-x77 series includes the 12-bay TS-1277, 8-bay TS-877 and 6-bay TS-677.

All are based on AMD’s Ryzen multi-core processors, use DDR4 memory, support two M.2 SSD modules for internal cache, and have eight USB (six 3.0 and two 3.1) ports.

With their three PCI-e expansion slots, the TS-x77 series can support AMD Radeon and Nvidia graphics cards and QNAP’s QM2 10 GbE/ 40 GbE network cards for faster network throughput.

Storage expansion for the TS-x77 series includes VJBOD, hot-swap RAID upgrades to larger drives, and hardware expansion using one of QNAPs own expansion enclosures.

    • TS-1277-1700-16G: AMD Ryzen™ 7 1700 8-core / 16-thread 3.0 GHz processor, Turbo Core 3.7 GHz and 16GB DDR4 UDIMM (2 x 8GB)
    • TS-1277-1600-8G: AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 6-core / 12-thread 3.2 GHz processor, Turbo Core 3.6 GHz and 8GB DDR4 UDIMM (2 x 4GB)

QNAP’s TS-877 can house six 2.5”/3.5” and two 2.5” drives and is available in two models:

And the TS-677 can house four 2.5”/3.5” and two 2.5” drives and is available in a single model:

For business applications, the TS-x77 series supports block-based iSCSI LUNs.
