If those updates haven't been installed since November 2019 and the NAS is on the 'net, I would consider them hacked by now.

Definitely old news and a few FW releases back. Also, only relevant to a subset of NAS models and under limited circumstances.

Your average windows Windows PC presents more of a risk but, as with any device, always good to know there was a problem and there is a fix
