Powered by AMD’s 8-core Ryzen architecture, the 16-bay TS-1677X Ryzen NAS is built to handle workloads found in larger businesses, such as AI and virtualization.

Available in four different models - based on processor and RAM (up to 64 GB), each TS-1677X Ryzen series NAS includes three PCIe expansion slots ((1x PCIe 3.0 x8, 1x PCIe 3.0 x4, 1x PCIe 2.0 x4) supporting graphics cards, 10/40 GbE NICs, USB 3.1 cards and QNAP’s own QM2 M.2 SSD/10 GbE products.

Running QNAP’s QTS OS, AI support comes from QNAP’s new QuAI developer package and the systems’ architecture, with performance further enhanced when used with higher-end graphics cards. Virtualization ready, TS-1677X Ryzen NAS can host virtual machine/containers running in VMware, Microsoft and Citrix environments, as well as QNAP’s own vQTS service, all accessible over iSER (iSCSI Over RDMA). Additionally, TS-1677X Ryzen NAS’ QVR Pro application has 8 free channels for video surveillance that’s expandable to 128 channels.

QNAP’s TS-1677X Ryzen NAS has twelve 3.5” and four 2.5” drive bays and can be expanded by using up to two QNAP UX-800P, UX-500P or up to four QNAP REXP-1000 Pro expansion enclosures.

Additional interfaces include two 10 GbE ports, four GbE ports, eight USB 3.0 ports, two 3.5 mm microphone jacks, one 3.5 mm line-out jack and an infrared receiver.

Now available, the QNAP TS-1677X’s models include:
  • TS-1677X-1700-64G: AMD Ryzen™ 7 1700 8 cores 16 threads 3.0 GHz processor (Turbo Core 3.7 GHz), 64 GB RAM - $3999
  • TS-1677X-1700-16G: AMD Ryzen™ 7 1700 8 cores 16 threads 3.0 GHz processor (Turbo Core 3.7 GHz), 16 GB RAM - $3099
  • TS-1677X-1600-8G: AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 6 cores 12 threads 3.2 GHz processor (Turbo Core 3.6 GHz), 8 GB RAM - $2699
  • TS-1677X-1200-4G: AMD Ryzen™ 3 1200 4 cores 4 threads 3.1 GHz processor (Turbo Core 3.4 GHz), 4 GB RAM - $2499

AI is moving really fast - this isn't really a selling point as QTS, while linux based, is not a good place to be right now...

Gah, marketeering...

"Higher end graphics cards"? Most VM packages charge for that feature if one wants to do VDI.

now this seems good in price, how did i not see this earlier. If only it can so something more than just files and AI.
Would be more impressive with threadripper and epyc
edit: just realised that $999 for 64-16GB of ram is overpriced. still at least you can upgrade with regular desktop ram.
