R7000 or EA8500?

Is the Linksys EA8500 worth $79 more than the Netgear R7000? I just need them as APs, and may need 2 to cover my entire house. Most of my devices support AC.

I don't think so. The R7000 is a pretty capable box.

I have 2 R7000's. They are solid. Plus decent 3rd party firmware. ( http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/asuswrt-merlin-on-netgear-r7000.71108/ ) Personally, I favour Broadcom (R7000) to Qualcom (EA8500)

For AP use, either one is probably overkill.
