Hi all
I have just bought a new house and am looking forward to running some ethernet cabling around the place.
I have done the maths and need about an 8 port switch and it must be gigabit.
I have also decided to venture down the VOIP route and have just bought a nice new Cisco 7940G.
The usual way to power these phones is through PoE and as it didn't come with a PSU I would like to try it out. I don't really want to use a power injector as it would mean I still need to buy a PSU for the phone but just plug it in somewhere else.
Here are my requirements:
* 8-16 ports
*At least 1 (preferably 2) PoE ports
* <$100 (I know, I'm cheap)
I like netgear stuff and a variant of the GS108 would be perfect and is well within budget on used on ebay, but no PoE. The GS108P adds the required PoE, but tend to be over budget even used.
Does anyone know of similar quality to the GS108P that comes in used at under $100?
I suppose I could have made this post shorter by asking:
"Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to the GS108P."
Thanks
Kevin
