Recommend a NAS that I can FTP files to via Wifi

New Around Here
Hello,

I have never had a NAS.

I want to connect a 2 bay NAS to my media player. My media player is a Popcorn Hour A-110. My intention is to connect the NAS via USB to my Popcorn hour.

But I want to be able to FTP my files to the NAS via Wifi.

I am looking for a low cost NAS box that can do this. All I need is a box that has at least 2 USB connections (one for a Wifi USB Dongle, and the other for connection to my media player), FTP and RAID 1 capability.

Thank you -

Why would you buy a NAS, then connect it via USB?

Some LaCie NASes support connecting via USB or network, but not both at the same time. And they don't support a wireless adapter.

File transfer via WiFi will be dog slow anyway.

The problem is that my media player is a long way from my PC. I do not have a cable connection between the two. My only connection to my media player (Popcorn Hour A-110) is via USB and I need more storage.

So maybe just some hard drive enclosure with Wifi & USB is all I need. But who makes such a device?

You need two netgear WNHDE111s. Connect the Popcorn and NAS to one of the WNHDE111 (configured as a bridge) and one connect the second WNHDE111 to the router as the AP.
By doing this way, you can buy any NAS you prefer.

I have a Netgear DG834G (all in one Wireless, modem 802.11g, router) that I am currently using. Would one WNHDE111 connected to my NAS be all that I would need?
