Hallo
Some time ago, I found a list of services, which one can safely remove from the router via terminal. I cannot find this list anymore.
Someone posted, maybe here on snb or another website, a list of commands like:

opkg remove itunes
opkg remove avahi/bonjour
opkg remove timemachine
opkg remove sambaserver
opkg remove ftpserver
opkg remove some unnecessary services...

Edit:
Found it!

As for services I killed (in 'services-start') without affecting the WiFi/IP part of the router:
  • killall infosvr # InfoSvr (ASUS Wireless Router Device Discovery)
  • killall ots # OTS (ASUS One-Touch Setup)
  • killall lpd # LPD (Line Printer Daemon)
  • killall u2ec # U2EC (USB-over-Ethernet printing daemon)
  • killall nt_monitor # Notifications Center (ASUS AiProtection ?)
  • killall nt_center
  • killall nt_actMail
  • killall lldpd # LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol)
  • killall lld2d # LLTP (Link Layer Topology Discovery)
  • killall avahi-daemon # mDNS (Avahi)
  • killall protect_srv # ? (TrendMicro stuff ?)
  • killall wpsaide # WPS Helper

You can't remove them because they are part of the firmware. opkg is only applicable for Entware packages that you have installed. If you don't want to run those services just turn them off in the GUI.

I did get rid of iTunes and other services, but I can't remember how.
It was some terminal command I can't remember.

Sorry but that's not possible. You can stop them running but you can't uninstall them because they are built into the firmware.

I still see the process nt_actMail.
How can I kill it?
killall nt_actMail does not work.

Edit:
SIGKILL in htop did the job.
