Removing "switch"

New Around Here
Have this win 7-64 computer.
Setup is DSLModem/router to Win 7-64 computer (Ethernet).
Last week I had an Asus RT-N53 router hooked up between the DSLmodem and Win 7-64, to setup the RT-N53 as a wireless access point that would be moved to a location 30 feet away, connecting directly to the DSLmodem with Ethernet cable.
so now I've got the RT-N53 setup on it's own Ethernet cable to the DSLmodem.

But now in the win 7-64 computers network connection, it shows a "Switch" listed between the DSLmodem and Win 7-64 computer, and a line showing the Win 7-64 connected to the RT-N53, I think this "switch" is slowing down the computer's internet speed.
Any ideas on how to delete this "switch"

The "switch" identified by the PC would be the switch built into the Asus router.

It should not be causing a performance problem.

Is the PC now connected by ethernet or by wifi?
