Repeater Mode Bug?

Thorgear

I'm having a problem with wireless connections to a router that's in repeater mode. New wireless connections are rejected by the repeater if they are not on the same band as the bridge. For example, if the repeater is bridged to the router on 5GHz, clients will only be able to connect to the repeater on 5GHz. 2.4GHz attempts are rejected.

The problem doesn't exist if the repeater is running the stock FW.

In this case, I can't get a wire to the router, so it has to be a repeater.

Is this a known bug? Is there a work-around?

Router: ASUS N66, Merlin 380.57
Router: ASUS N66, Stock FW 3.0.0.4.378_9459

Thanks.

Thats a bug since one a Year. I dont think that Asus know this.

When you ned the Reapeter you have to install a older Merlin.
The last working was Merlin 378.54_2 or 378.53

Thanks for responding. That's too bad. Off hand, do you know of the downside of going back to either of those versions?

i think on the router with repeater does not matter because, only the signal expands it.

On the main Router should be the latest
