Repeater mode on rtac66u with releases >56_2

Hi, are there any constrains for updating a RT-AC66u in repeater mode with .58? The upgrade itself works, but afterwards the repeater mode is broken. Since 56_2 I can't use any release on a rtac66u, which I use in repeater mode. The router keeps rebooting quite rapidly. If I gain access to it, a FW downgrade isn't possible at all in repeater mode. If I put it in any other mode, >56__2 releases work well and a downgrade is possible too. But configuring repeater mode again - even after a factory reset -, will also make the device unusable again.

Any help appreciated!

PS: Flashing the current Asus FW shows the same behaviour for me as Merlin FW >56_2.
