Replace my Netgear WNDR3700v1 with Linksys E4200?

Hi all...

On the recommendations I found here some time ago, I got a WNDR3700 (v1) back when it came out. It's been pretty good for me (except for the short period where they released the bad firmware for it).

The specs and results posted here on the Cisco/Linksys E4200 look much better in most (tho' not all) cases.

Would you upgrade to E4200, or do you feel it's not THAT much better in real-life, everyday performance to make a difference? My pipe to the outside world is just 4Mbps down/800Kbps up DSL, so the router's not limited speed there. Just better household wireless performance and local network file transfer speed (and some possible wifi HD streaming) is what I'm interested in.

You are unable to stream HD using the 3700V1?

No, I can stream with it. But you know, it's nice to have the highest headroom available so that there's never any problem; and faster wireless file transfers locally would be nice too.

Just wondered if folks thought it's worth the upgrade.

Only way to know with your environment is to try it. Order from the Cisco store and get free shipping and 90 days to try it out.

Amazon and Best Buy don't charge restock fees either.
