Hi,

The Marvell 88E1116 "Alaska" board burned after a power surge and now i am trying to find a way to retrieve the data stored on the 2 Seagate 7200.10 ST3500630AS. I put 1 of the disks in an external hard drive enclosure and connect through usb to my XP machine. From the disk management utility, i can see the disk but the file system is not ercognised so i can not access the data.
I guess i should plug that box on a linux machine, but wiche one, and what would be the commands to access the data then ?
Any help or pointers to other forums would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Filesystem is XFS.

Pretty sure that Ubuntu should be able to mount the drive

Thanks tim. I got ubuntu and plugged in 1 of the 2 disks for the Ethernet-big disk.

I do a "df -h" and see:

/dev/sdd7 7.6M /media/disk
/dev/sdd8 122M /media/disk-1
/dev/sdd9 703M /media/disk-2

How could i find out what are these? I understand they are coming from the ethernet big disk, but i would expect to see more ( i see only about 1G, and the disk is 500...)
