I've heard of folks having problems accessing the router via router.asus.com with Firefox. Well, I just upgraded one of my laptops to MacOS Ventura, and the same problem (at least using Edge and Safari). All non-Ventura computers connect to the router with router.asus.com just fine. Using the IP address works fine for all. Not a big deal, but an annoyance.

Edit: Just Safari, Edge is working fine.

Many reports of this already. Here's just two:

Thank you, sir! Makes sense, it's forcing https and my router was setup for http - DUH!

Works in Chrome and Firefox for me,

Same - Chrome/Edge work fine. It seems that Safari for Ventura won't take it because it's an http address. Changing it to https in Asus settings fixes the problem.

I was wondering if anyone has found a fix for this yet? I have the same problem after upgrading to Ventura as well. After reading through this thread though, I'm a bit more confused as there are posts here referring to Safari forcing https, and I have my router set up to use both HTTP, and HTTPS. I try the connection as https://router.asus.com:8443, and it still doesn't connect. Both Firefox, and Chrome based browsers work fine. I even checked Safari's settings to see if there was a new default setting to change, and so far didn't find anything.

This isn't a big deal, so I was mainly just asking if anyone found a fix for this.

Thanks

Just a note you need to type it in your browser. Trying to click that link won't work.

Edit: It now works. I thought you couldn't edit posts, but I just saw the nearly invisible Report/Edit/Delete buttons at the bottom... The original link was auto-created and had the question-mark at the end included as part of the link.

Then that seems to imply that Safari baked in the forced HTTPS list before Asus removed their entry for asus.com and all subdomains. Hopefully it may fix itself in a future update if they recompile with the current list.

I updated the bookmark and re-saved my login / password for the new URL and it's good again. I'll just leave it this way if the new address is going to be the new normal address for Asus routers now.

Yes, it does work on my RT-AC66U_B1
The asusnetwork.net domain is for sale, malicious content may appear there at any time.
You use it at your own risk.
However, do not recommend it to other users.

Just tried asusrouter.com on my Ventura-based mac on Safari...works fine here. Says that it's insecure, though, similar to what happens with Firefox.

On the other hand, router.asus.com doesn't work with Safari on Ventura, so it goes. I'll just use the one that works on the platform I'm on *smile*.

Interesting the varying results.

From that original thread, it look like asusrouter is the old way to access it. They added the router.asus later and decided to make that the one used for access in documentation.

Also, that www.asusnetwork.net also works on my AC-68U, but you MUST type in the www in front.

I didn't recommend it. I said it works. I didn't put it in the hosts file, Asus did.
