Router disconnects when ISP changes dynamic IP address

SkyChef

New Around Here
1) I just bought this router for a couple weeks and every time, my ISP (Charter Comm) changed my dynamic IP address, asus router reported no internet. I have to power down my SB6121 modem and asus router to fix the problem. I never have this problem with my other old routers (Linksys WRT54GL or Buffalo WHR-G125) before. They will pick up the new IP address as if nothing has changed. Is this normal behavior of this router or do I have to do something else in the setting?
2) Every time this router has no internet access, my computer could not open the setting page. The error message is something about something has changed in IP address so I cannot connect to the router. My PC IP to the router is static 192.168.1.170 and I shouldn't have any problem to open the setting page. Again, I have no problem w/ my old routers in LAN if internet is disconnected. It seems that Asus router won't open the setting page if there is no internet.
3) Almost every hour, it drops the connection then re-connnects. It's a pain because it causes disconnect my on line game. I check the log and found something like dirty WAN (or something like that) then re-connect.

Thanks in advance guys,
Chef

PS: The router is pretty much in default setting of everything. The firmware w/ problem is 3.0.0.4.334. If you need more info of my setting please ask.
Edited: I changed the firmware to new Padavan firmware. I still get disconnected once in a while. So update my firmware to Asus newest. Turn off uPNP & use Google DNS. I will see how it works. 85 views and not a word. I was searching internet and found the disconnect is a real problem w/ this router since when, especially if cable modem is used. And rosy reviews of others. Hah.
Edited: 3/17/2013: I found a way to fix this problem. Make it a $100 paper weight & use my old linksys WRT54GL. Haven't any problem before replaced it w/ Asus POS and haven't any problem now. I have played online game for couple 2,3 sessions straight w/o disconnect.

I think I'm having the same problem, I got Comcast and the router will disconnect and say can't find IP address or something so I have reset and modem and router and that fixes for at most 2-3 days before it starts again
