I am trying to upgrade from firmware version 384.6 to 384.13 for my AC68U router, but when the upgrade finishes it's still on 384.6. I have tried doing a factory restart first, and no drives are connected to the router. Do I need to revert to an older version before upgrading?

Which router do you try to update?

Yes I extracted the .zip to a folder on my desktop and used "RT-AC68U_384.13_0.trx".
Remove any USB drive and reboot and try again.

Is this a legit AC68U or a converted model?

Make sure you have a real RT-AC68U. Converted/hacked models are not supported.

I rebooted and tried again but it did not work.
I caught your previous post. It is illegal to run Asus-Merlin on your router. Asus has made it so you cannot use their firmware either.
