Im desperate. I have a rule that I'm looking in 3 sources to make opinion, but what if 3 sources say different word?

I live in small Poland, and I have no I idea what router I can choose. I can say 3zl=1 us dolar, so our market is a little different and unstable (3 month ago 2,2zl=1 dolar so it was cheaper)

I hate dlink and I can see netgear is same thing, so if you remember napalm at morning frin vietnam war you have to choose netgear to rember smell of burning platick. (sorry if it is bad joke)

So what I need is good perfomance at long distance.
I have got home with brick walls, 20m long (3 wall to pass), and two stair. My dlink g604t is making noise like mouse (after 2 years I get crazy), and it making 85% coverage so this is not bad, but it can,t make more than 200 connection at time, it have to be reset many time at weak.

I want to use it to steam video, making backup, network 3d rendering, transmite a lot small files (like u have in joomla or mambo).

Soo it was hard and I found some routers.
wrt300n 350zl , ASUS WL-500W 340zl
and from uknown company for me
TEW-633GR 400zl
SMCWGBR14-N 360zl

dir-655 cost in my country 330zl

I found a lot of reviews, and one of them is telling that wrt300n is really the best of the best:)

here u can see wrt300n in action but it can't be true?

Hare u can see that 350n is hmm crap?

And I cant decide wich modems adsl is the best, Linksys am200, Dlink DLS-320T, Netgear DM111P

One more garbish.... how about TP-LINK TL-WR941ND, it cost less than 200zl. Im surly that I will buy new router in next 3-4years then N will be finieshed, but still is this hmm stable device?

For me 50% is reliability, 22% range, 18% max speed mixed g/n mode at maximum range, 8% 1Gb/s lan, 2% everything else

Sorry for my english.

What is your current router and why are you looking to change?

What kind of wireless and wired throughput are you looking for?

Thank you for response:)

So I have got Dlink g604T. I could samy many word but in one "crap". It give me a lot of noise. Terrible range, so usually I got 2-18Mb/s (for real I never could make that speed). With bad day, my dad haven't connection.

And I have to reset it one time per day.... Imagin this Im rendering something 3 days, and 90% done, and my internet go down and the only one solution is to reset it and lost all of my work>>>/

I cant make transfer in lan using more than 10% of bandwich??? I dont know why but ftp/smb/RDP everything is transfering with low speed and everything is set correct.

ADSL connection is going down then I transfer something like joomla server (a lot of small files)

I want to get 1Gb/s lan, and wlan with 20-40Mb/s (real transfer) after walls. But what is more importent to me is that device must be reliability, so it have to make a lot of connection and dont go down, low ping is good thing but I think every device has got it (low ping is for network rendering).

I don't think Dlink ever sold the DSL-G604t in the US. If they did, it was probably short lived.

www.dlink.com.au has plenty of support information for this model. Dlink had 3 hardware revisions, A, B and C. Which is yours? Look on the bottom It should say something like A1 or B1, etc. Next, go to Dlink.com.au and check to see if you have the latest firmware. I just reviewed their notes for the A and B revision and they claim to have addressed P2P lockup issues, improved DSL sync compatibility with certain telephone company equipment, etc. I'd check it out before you dump your current modem/router.

It's G604T A1,

.... As I said, it give me terrible noise, I can't hold it more, its hardware issue. I talked to d-link many years ago and thay said that I could gave it to them but it was a time when post somethig trought Polish Post office it could came after one-two weak, and all gvaranty thing could took more than one month, I had to have a network in home so I couldn't gave it to them for replacing adsl modem in this router.

Still I need better performance. I'm amateur 3d graphics, also I wanted to steam video to media center, today I was terrible 100mb was send in 30minutes so 56kb/s dont u think is it bad performance. I will update router, maybe it will came better perfomance. But I read a lot on 4um noise will be allways with me its hardware issue.

Edit
Upgread make really better performance but now, Noise is really biger. so still need to replace this crap.

I'm happy to hear that the new firmware helped performance.

The noise you are describing, is it coming from the Dlink box itself or is this noise you can hear when you are on the telephone? If the noise is when you are on the telephone, it could be because you need to install DSL filters on your telephones. Check here to understand more about what I'm talking about.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DSL_filter

Its from this device. Telephone work fine, but.... I can hear this router in whole room, and in same room I have got workstation with 2 xeon processors (p4 prescott) ATI 4850 with referance cooling, 5x hard drive and power supply 800W, and still I can hear this router.

But its not important, I need new one, I need better wireless range and better wireless performance. 1Gb/s lan could help sometimes, but I can allways buy a swich:). so tell witch of thoose routers are the best?

Big update....

So I cant decide which router is the best one so, in my first post I told u in % what is the most important to me.

I start from SMC.
30% for stability (no heat-sink, and in summer uuu its will be hot), 22% for range (some test show that this one have got really good, but can it be true?), 10% for speed, 6% 1Gb/s ( its not running at full speed), 2% for USB.
=70%

Linksys WRT-300n I dont know what is it? This link show http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/networking/display/asus-wl500w_11.html#sect0 strange think is it true?? In every test wrt300n is really weak.

So its gain 40%, 20%, 15%, 0%, 0%
= 75%+3% for ability working with non-linksys system

Asus I dont think is it could choice, thay made the best mmotherboard before thay move to china, now thay are doing everything (can anyone do everything good?) I dont know much about this one....

TP-link
30%, 15%,12%,0%,0%
=57%+5% for big low price ( I think its fair its 2x cheaper than anyone of N routers)+3% for ability working with non tplink soft.... its archeos so DD-something could work?

I heat this to say but Dir-655 is the last one. I dont know this is better that linksys becouse xbitlabs show this is better. And how about range? still some test show us that this one have got really poor range.

35%, 15%,18%,8%,2%
= 78%+2 % for price... the price is less than overs.

Tew-633gr, the most expensive and not soo good...
30%, 20%,15%,8%
=72%-5% for big price.

Dir-655-> is the winner, but still I dont think is soo good as I wrote. I need help becouse I'm confused . If I think wrong please correct me;)

DIR-655 if setup right can give you what you need. For some reason dlink made that wireless gig router N something good. I now have N with a mix bag of G devices about 50/50%. Speed wise about better for N. I had to change couple of things that I used for G wireless environment but now with N and G pretty stable.

Trendnet gaming wireless N Gig router has and serious issue. One user reported it on Amazon about it. That router has dropped to $50 USD here, still I thought about buying it, but won't. Would made a good WAP N though. My N is 100% and two G WAPs are also 100%. I just keep them off the same channel now. So G is channel 11 and N is channel 6. Works better. Plus the SSID need to reflex that too.

So for the money I would recommend DIR-655 and buy a couple of N cards to use with it and it those don't have to be dlink brand if you need to keep within a certain budget.

How abour wrt-300n? I can see in every labs, thay keep saying that this one its not soo good. Poor Range, Poor speed, but is possible so diffrance in one test xbitslabs??
Whis is dlink. Pleace 5 is after 1 brick wall, 1 gips wall
http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/other/dlink-dir655/Coverage.png

here is linksys and asus reviews. Why in linksys review we have got only 11Mb/s point 5 and in asus review 4x more>?
http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/other/asus-wl500w/coverage.png
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/networking/display/linksys-wrt300n_12.html#sect2

Test was made with linksys wpc300n card. Its same in here, but with another reslult.

http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/26746/100/1/7/

vs

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/networking/display/netgear-dg834n_9.html#sect0

Xbitlabs, have got eu version with intel xscale processor, thay have got 2.x version of software. us version in small net builder get 0,9x version of software and broadcoom processor.

Is Dlink has got some diffrent hardware in east-eu that could make really diffrance>?

And what ADSL modem will be the best one Linksys am200, Dlink DLS-320T, Netgear DM111P? In poland the most popular is Tp-link 8840/8841 but Im not sure is it goo choice.
