So I've moved into a student housing recently and they have a public network set up that sends you to a log page to be able to actually use the internet. I'm not able to access this page on my playstation and for some reason connecting to the wall port doesn't seem to do anything either.

I got an Asus RT-AC750GF Dual Band router and have been trying to set it up so that I would have my own secured network in my room.
I don't understand why but when I input all the data on the router setup page it still doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did they ask you for a MAC address? When I lived in the students dorms, I had to give them the MAC address of the LAN port of my laptop, later like you did, I bought a router so I could connect several devices.

In the router settings page I had to change (cloned) the MAC address from the LAN port of my laptop since that's the registered MAC address.

Maybe this helps

Google your 'school/housing name' and 'router setup'... a previous student may have posted his solution online... maybe.
