RT AC 88 U blocking MMS

I don't know how long this has been happening just noticed it now but when I try to send an MMS from a zenfone 7 from home eg, mobile data and wifi both on ,it just won't send unless I turn wifi of on my phone.
I use express VPN,s Smart DNS servers to stream so I was wondering if that's the problem so I connect my phone to a tp link router I have set up to pass through the Asus for local content and same issue.
I'm on android 10 but I really don't think it's the phone,I think it's the router. Anyone know what is going on here

I believe I have worked out that it was the express DNS servers that were blocking MMS.
I have turned my DNS settings back to auto and am using a VPN location instead and they are all going through now.

The Strange thing is though that I swapped from a VPN to the smart DNS servers because all of a sudden I couldn't stream Amazon prime with a VPN but that's working to now.
The only change I've made since then was going from Merlin F/W 18 to 19 so not sure if that's anything to do with it but I doubt it as they are both very stable F/W. Oh well I guess I'll never know.
I understand that 386 1.2 is out but I've read so many posts of people having trouble with it I am a bit shy about trying it . I might wait to see how it progresses
