My router is a RT-AC1900P, using factory firmware (3.0.0.4.384_20624).
Every single day, core # 2 of my router is pegged at 100%. If i reboot it, after a few hours, it's right back to 100%. No gradual climb.... just goes from 0-5% for a few hours then shoots to 100% and stays there until I reboot the router. I used the built in admin page to schedule a daily reboot and core 2 always pegs after a few hours of up time. I turned on SSH so I could maybe log in and get a better idea of what is causing the problem but despite having SSH turned on, when I log into the router and type my password, nothing happens. No SSH errors.....just sits there. I want to try an alternative firmware. Is AsusWRT-Merlin "RT-AC68U_384.4_2.zip" the one I want?
Or, anyone have a clue as to what keeps pegging the CPU? I tried searching for 'cpu' but can't because it's too short of a search word.
