[RT-AC58/RT-ACRH13] Just upgraded from an ac56u to ac58u...

Hey Guys,
I needed a quick replacement for my AC56U that i forgot when moving to my new place. So i picked up the AC58U on amazon because it was cheap, on sale and had same day delivery option.

I have seens some questions about this router so here are my first impressions : The thing is noticeably smaller and both the VPN and the web interface in general seems faster. I can't really comment on the range as my place is really small.

If anybody has any other questions, i can try to answer them the best i can.

Merlin, do you plan on supporting this router ?

With no official RMerlin support, not an option I would have considered.

Could you please tell us the reason? I had an AC56 but it broke so looking to buy a replacement router and the external support is crucial to me. Is it because the Atheros chipset?

Yes. I only work with high-end Broadcom-based models.

Thank you for your quick response. Probably same will apply to ddwrt and openwrt support so I might just go and buy rt-ac68.
