RT-AC66U antenna locations for both bands; which is internal?

This may seem like a unusual question, but which band is external? 2.4 or 5GHz or are those external antennas dual band??
Does this vary per model and/or per manufacture since the internal ones are at a definite disadvantage??

With the AC66 the antennas are duel band that is they work for both bands at the same time.

Thanks. After looking at some interior shots, that appears to be it.

Not to get OT, but how common is it to use a separate set for each band like TP-Link does (at least on that one model)??

Not sure but i like the external antennas much better they just work better.

Absolutely external and removable for two reasons; far better performance & the option of replacing the stock with a high gain or even a remote (movable) antenna.

Does either the stock Asus or Merlinwrt F/W offer a antenna port mode option to select auto, TX only or Rx only??
