RT-AC66U B1, Some kind of Passthrough

John Ericson

New Around Here
Hi
A friend of mine called me up saying that his Internet connection failed, when he came home from a vacation.
The setting looks like this:
  • Asus RT-AC66U B1, Wireless turned off.
  • I upgraded the firmware to the latest possible (Version 3.0.0.4.384.32799, 19 sep 2018)
  • Wan-port connected to ISPs Equipment (Media converter, then fiber from the house)
  • Wireless managed by Ubiquiti unit connected to routers LAN1 port.
When we called the ISP-support they told us that my friends two Samsung phones where hogging up the two public IP-addresses. Somehow they got through the router as it was set in some kind of AP-mode, which it isn't (It's in Router -mode). I've been through the router settings but can not find what it is that's causing this. Can anyone give me a hint what's going on?
Thanks in advance!
/John

That should be possible assuming that it's in "router" mode and NAT (WAN > Internet Connection) has been left enabled.

If in doubt do a factory default reset and set it up again.
