Hi guys.
First of all, my english is not my native language so maybe i won't be clear enough.
I own the ASUS RT-AC68U and have a 1GB fiber internet connection.
On my computer i have a NETGEAR A6210 wireless adapter (AC 1200) plugged on USB 3.0.
With latest driver installed.
Since a few days i have a strange behaviour with my router both in 2.4 and 5 Ghz:
On one hand with wifi i have slow file download speed (between 50to 80MB/s ) from http websites or my ftp.
On the other hand if i do a test on speedtest.net with wifi i have good bandiwtch, 320 Mbps download and 190 Mbps upload.
So i think my wifi bandwitch is fine.
Before posting i followed this guide :
https://www.snbforums.com/threads/guide-troubleshooting-wifi-issues.12825/
Especially the InSSIDer part.
As I live in a house i have very few other wifi netwotks around. I tried to change channels anyway but i have still the same wifi speed problems.
I also did a factory reset for settings, still the same problem.
If i try the same tests with the ethernet port i have no problem everything is fine.
So my ISP internet connection is not the problem.
On my SONY android tablet, with dual band AC wifi the same http or ftp test i have 200MB speed.
I plugged a usb hard drive to the router and download a file to my computer with wifi, i get 200MB speed.
So it seems the router is working fine for downloading files with wifi to my computer.
I updated my router to latest firmware two weeks ago (ver 3.0.0.4.380_7743). I was still using stock firmware, it was the first update.
I can't really tell if the problem came since this update or was already there before.
I only noticed the slow transfers on my computer this week end.
What do you think, why http or ftp speed is slow on my computer ?
Is there something i could check or change in the router settings with the latest firmware ?
Am i missing something obvious about file downloads ?
Thanks for your help to resolve this.
