RT-AC86U repeater mode not working with Netgear X4S R7800

Hello, I am not able to get RT-AC86U running as repeater working.

I use Netgear X4S R7800 as main router, RT-AC86U has latest merlin firmware, following setup wizard. AC86U shows connected, and if I use LAN to connect AC86U to a PC and I have internet. But no internet if I use my laptop to connect to AC-86U, the IP address assigned is 169.254.x.x, not 192.168.1.x. What could be wrong?
