RT-AC88U to Hotspot

In DD-WRT, is it possible to reconfigure a wireless interface to act as the WAN port ?

Current configuration:

The RT-AC88U has a media bridge plugged into the WAN port.

The media bridge connects wirelessly to an AC1750 hotspot for Internet access.

Is it possible to remove the media bridge from this configuration and have the router connect wirelessly to the hotspot for Internet traffic ?

Not many DD-WRT users on this forum, you might have better luck asking again on the DD-WRT support forums.

yes, look under Repeater / Repeater Bridge https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linking_Routers it actually works pretty well

why would you bother with dd wrt for this

in the stock asus firmware the 88u can be put in media bridge mode and do as you need , and prob work better wifi wise as dd wrt drivers aint the best wifi wise as far as i know

in dd wrt there is client bridge mode

however in both cases you then become part of the AC1750 hotspot network , the 88u wont be routing and of providing dhcp lease or any of that

whereas atm you have your own private network behind the 88u because its routing ( i assume unless you have the 88u in ap mode )
