Have an RT-AX58U that is running 386.4 now. Going to sell it and want to revert it back to stock firmware.

Tried just flashing it with the latest stock, and it fails.

I've tried entering Rescue mode, but it always says the router is not in Rescue mode.

I've been setting the IP address on my notebook to 192.168.1.10. I know the 58U defaults to 192.168.50.1 for initial setup. Maybe 192.168.1.x is incorrect for Rescue mode on this model?

In any case, any help would be appreciated.

It looks like you need to flash the build from October before you can flash the build from January -

'*Due to core software module upgrade, if you wanna to upgrade to this version, please must update your router to 3.0.0.4.386.45898 first.'

If you have kept the default router address (192.168.50.1), your computer's IP should be 192.168.50.xx, not 192.168.1.xx. Maybe that's the reason for your internet problem described in another thread?

You are correct and this needs to be done before running the rescue utility. Thanks!
