RT-AX58U model is on sale?

Major Canadian Retailers have stubbornly maintained the same $229.99 price on the RT-AX58U for some time.
Suddenly it is on sale for $40 to $50 off ($190/180) at several stores but most have no stock.
Is this a clear out of returns, refurbs, reducing stock on a retiring model or just a Fall sale?
