New Around Here
My new RT-AX68U is experiencing fairly regular resets of the wireless interfaces which results in client disconnects for a short period of time. I've seen it on both wl0 and wl1, but primarily wl1.

Over the course of a day this will happen dozens of times.

Is this likely a hardware issue?

I've tried the following but the problem persists:
  • Factory reset
  • Rolling back to older firmware
  • Turning off smart connect
  • Disabling auto control channel
  • Splitting the bands into separate SSIDs
  • Turning off WiFi 6
  • Turning off explicit beamforming

Thanks.

I would return (if still in return window otherwise send in for repair) it as long as it does self-reset the configuration/settings on anything!! This reminded me the old AC86U I bought from Amazon, it kept rebooting itself anytime it wanted,,,I ended of getting another one as Asus Support said it shouldn't have done it..well the replaced AC86U after 1 years usage got 2.4Ghz radio issue so I will be about sending in for repair!

Thanks for the advice. I ended up exchanging my AX68U for another unit. This one still has wireless resets, although not as frequently. It has been up for 12 days and wl1 has reset 15 times.

I've scheduled a weekly reboot of the router and will hope that maybe a future firmware update will help.

are you using Asuswrt fw or Merlin? I have 2 AX86U , one as AiMesh router , another node...I could only check the wireless log that the 5Ghz backhaul stays connected since the last time I rebooted the 10 days ago.

the shown logs look like you are using Merlin?

I'm running the Asus firmware, latest version.
