New Around Here
So, I've had my RT-N16 for quite a few years now. I've changed to dd-wrt firmware multiple times following the guidelines outlined in their install faq. Mainly, clearing NVRAM before and after each flash.
Recently, I've noticed my Wi-Fi doesn't disconnect, but, I lose internet. (dd-wrt). I haven't troubleshooted enough to know whether it's my phone or the router, but, I figured I'd put back on the stock firmware and see if that helped at all.
When I attempted to flash the newest firmware, everything went fine and it flashed. The only issue, the blue Wi-Fi light never turns on and the Wi-Fi settings are corrupt in that I cannot select a channel. SSID is set to broadcast but there's never any Wi-Fi being broadcast either the default ASUS or any custom SSID name I set. For the channel selection, the options are only "Auto or 0"
I've tried using the recovery method with the same results. Again, clearing to default settings before and after any flash of any firmware.
It's got me baffled because if I then go put back on DDWRT, the radio turns on (light and SSID availability)
