RT-N65U - Specified IP (Max Limit : 4)

Hi All,
Been reading these forums for a few days now, very informative. Apologies my first post is asking for help and not contributing but can anyone shed any light on the below issue I have.

Basically I wish to restrict access to the Web Administration Interface for my RT-N65U to a Range of local address's of which I may connect from myself. The current official Firmware Version: 3.0.0.4.374_1317 only allows 4 IP's in the table :(

So now I have hit the limit of 4, just wondering if anyone knows a hack to extend this or implement a range?

Thanks

i believe that merlin doesn't support that specific router, so i'm afraid it's likely impossible to change

[edit/]

Unlikely. This router uses a totally different chipset, which would require extensive changes and testing. All my low-level changes are specific to Broadcom.

Out of curiosity: why would you limit access by IP address instead of limiting it with a strong Username/Password combination?

Why not have both? :D Can never be too careful and the annoying thing is I only need to add 1 more WAN ip to the list to make 5 address's to have all bases covered.

Thanks for responding anyway guys :)

sinshiva I was going to try out Merlins firmware at some point, didnt know my router wasn't supported, had not looked in to it too much but have seen his firmware suggested for ASUS routers and assumed mine would be :(

If you want to go down the custom firmware route, look at Padavan's. His firmware supports the RT-N65U, and is still actively developed/maintained.
