Right now I have my RT-N66U running as router + WiFi from a Cisco cable modem. But I'm considering taking an old desktop and setting up a pfsense router and then just using the RT-N66U as an access point.
My question is whether the USB ports on the ASUS are still powered when it is in AP mode. I know that the data connection is turned off (or, at least, access to the USB applications is inaccessible in the firmware), but I'm curious if the ports are still receiving power.
I know this isn't too terribly difficult to test, but until I am ready to switch over to the new network configuration, I am hesitant to mess around with a working setup.
