Saving traffic monitor data out of RAM

New Around Here
Currently my router is saving it's traffic data in RAM. I want to back that up before I make some changes in the router that require a reboot. Is there anyway, short of taking a lot of screen caps, of writing the raw data out of RAM to a file?

Not with the Asus original firmware, no.

I do have your version of f/w: 3.0.0.4.266.23

Sorry, I should have stated this originally. I just didn't see a way in the Merlin version without wiping out what's already in RAM.

You can configure Asuswrt-Merlin to save to a USB disk, under Tools -> Other Settings.

If you have many days of data in RAM that you don't want to lose, then configure the FW to use a directory on your USB disk /mnt/sda1/data/ for example), then copy the file that has "tomato" in its name to that new directory, then reboot (has to be done through SSH or telnet). Next boot the firmware should load that saved data file from the USB disk.

I recommend upgrading to 3.0.0.4.270.25b, as it will make it easier for you to configure this.
