Secure Erase HDD from QNAP GUI?

Hi,

I have a TS-264 (2 bays) with 2 HDD's in RAID1.
I can detach HDD2, but don't know how to secure erase that specific drive.

Is there a way on the NAS to do that?

Thanks,

All you need to do is pull the drive and attach it to a powered SATA (presumably) to USB converter and run one of the secure erase / DOD erase programs. i would not do it on the NAS directly unless on its USB port. You might try the QNAP forums for additional advice.

If you are disposing of the drive, you can drill holes through it as well ;)

I'll probably do that, but just to don't keep a PC on doing just that.

I have to RMA'd it, I don't think they'll accept it with some custom cooling
