dear people

yesterday i recieved my nighthawk R7800 an flashed it with voxel's firmware.
one ofe the main reasons to flash was using scrips and setup open vpn.
now my router is up and running but i cant connect ot my usb (ext4). it says permissions deniend.
i is also not so clear how i have to install en setup openvpn.
could u please help me?
i have already telnet working but due the usb problems cant setup SSH

You don't need ssh to install the OpenVPN client.
You don't need ext4 formatting either, FAT eg is just fine.

Have you formatted the usb device from the R7800 telnet prompt?

What brand, type and size is your usb device?

You can install this add-on to get info about usb devices and OpenVPN:

So I installed your ADD-on an iT works !
My usb is formated as an ext3 in port 1.
I also read The tread about VPN.
I dont pay for Amy service or somthing. I just want my router werking as an tunnel for my mobile Phone or laptop etc. Is that also possible ?

Your usb might be ext4, because i recently discovered another Netgear/stock bug in detection of file system. I have a workaround for that in next add-on release.

Not sure what you are up to, but i guess you want to use the OpenVPN SERVER function of the router.

To do this you can use the search function in this forum!

I would personally recommend you to read the excellent guide written by randytsuch at:

Its not up to date but very informative and usable for you!

To format ext4 from telnet prompt:
mkfs.ext4 -L optware -O ^metadata_csum /dev/sda1
