I have a home network with an FVS318 router and two wireless access points (DIR-655 and a Netgear wnr834M). Should I have RIP turned on in thiese devices?

Do you have any G wireless, then Yes... The DIR-655 I would use the defaults when you turn off the DHCP, NAT, SPI an etc..

No--your network is almost certainly a single broadcast domain, so there's nothing to route between.
