Should I change SSID & Password after firmware switch

OK so I cant stick with the merlin firmware on this router because of one issue.

I will be flashing it back to the original ASUS firmware. My question is as follows, All my wireless devices will connect back to the router once I set up my SSID & Password (same as old one)

Is this a good idea? With all the firmware updates and reset's does everyone keep there original wifi details etc?

Changing your firmware (or even the router) shouldn't have any bearing on the SSID and its password. Unless you're using some non-alphanumeric characters that might not be acceptable to the new firmware.
