Since latest firmware cannot timemachine

Hello all.

I have one of these new fangled RT-AC86U's

Its been ok, not quite the awe inspiring results I was hoping for compared to a RTN66U.

Well anyway I saw the latest firmware yesterday and thought I would give that a go.

Since then timemachine does not work, it says that my credentials are wrong (They are not wrong)

Sort of lost what to do really. I can repick the router as the source and enter my credentials then it just says connecting, but does not connect until eventually saying 'OSStatus error 2.'

Would there be a merlin build for this router anywhere, I did find on the n66u it played better with OSX in general.

Well, I suppose I deserve it but after applying the merlin the disk is no longer available and my credentials nor default credentials work to log into the router.

sigh.

Which firmware version did you apply? Also did you do a factory reset after the firmware upgrade? You should be able to login using the default admin/admin username/pwd after that.

I think I applied the correct firewares, but did not do a hard reset, so perhaps that was the problem.

Anyhow it got over itself and I was able to get in, but sadly it does not support timemachine so I am back to the standard firmware.

Something in that latest firmware is wrong, I have not had so much as a hiccup from this router but since applying that its acting up.

It would help if you provided the actual version number you installed, because Time Machine is definitely supported in my firmware. I have a feeling that you either flashed a very old version, or flashed the wrong firmware build.
