[Solved] Can't connect to VPN server AC66U

bigguacamole

New Around Here
I've been trying to set up a VPN so I can access my home network from the internet, but am having problems to connect any client to it.

I have PPTP VPN server turned on, set up a user/password and everything works good if I'm within the network. But if I connect from a external network I just won't be able to, which is odd because I swear could do it earlier this morning when I started the whole process.

After several attempts I'm just giving up on ddns and setting my public ip on the VPN client with no luck, but I have found a couple of things:
  • I can't ping the ip UNLESS I go to Firewall and choose Yes to Respond Ping Request from WAN, which tells me I indeed have a public ip on my router.
  • If I try to telnet it will work for a moment and if I send anything it will return "Connection reset by peer".

At this point I'm not sure if there's something going on with my router or if my ISP is blocking something, and I should either call them and ask for some config or workaround it somehow.

I am using latest Merlin firmware, dated from 2016-05-11, version 380.59.

Thanks in advance.

I loked around but I didn't find much, any ideas?

So I've no idea what was going on, after several factory resets trough the GUI with no success I tried again with the reset button and it worked with no issues.
