Hi all,
I recently bought a ASUS AC86U and a Sonos One and I’m having an issue with the Sonos One, I have the latest Merlin firmware on with the FreshJR QOS. I have a mixture of 27 wired and wireless devices.
Basically when listening to music through Amazon Music and Alexa casting it to my Sonos One after a week or so it gets stuck and will no longer sync, it accepts play pause and skip on the Amazon app but it doesn’t sync the information to the Amazon Music app, if I switch to the Sonos app it’s fine. I can also Alexa Cast to Amazon echo devices in my house that are on the same 2.4ghz channel.
Speaking to Sonos support they said that through their diagnostic there was latency on my WiFi channel 11 so I should change it. I was on 11 as that gives my devices the best signal rate. I looked on the WiFi radar and channel 11 only has 25% available bandwidth so I moved across to channel 1 which had 87% free. However the issue still occurs, my latency may have gone down, I’m not sure as Sonos won’t share any of the diagnostic but they tell me it has, my devices have all gone up about -5 each on the connection stats.
Not sure whether to think it’s my network on the Sonos-Amazon software that’s the issue, rebooting the Sonos brings back normal function. I can also Airplay fine and control the Sonos through its own app fine when the amazon music app isn’t syncing.
Any thoughts? Thanks?
I have since wired the Sonos in directly and it is working as it should so far, no idea what the wireless issue is but I would like to use it wirelessly ideally.
