Stock FM > Merlin, would it require reconfig of VPN?

Just a quick question. If I were to change from the present stock firmware on my ASUS RT-AX88U to Merlin firmware, would I have to set up remote access to my router/network via OpenVPN from scratch and if so, would the setup procedure be the same?

Best to reconfigure it, because we don't share the same OpenVPN code. And since their own code is closed source, I cannot determine whether it would be compatible with my settings or not. They also use an older version (2.4) of OpenVPN.

You could however backup the existing keys and certificates, and reuse them afterward, which would save you from having to reconfigure all clients.
