DMBoot

New Around Here
I am running 380.68_4 on a RT-N66U and connecting to IP Vanish.

My IPTV will not work after a router reboot unless I do the following.

1. Turn the vpn off (servive state to OFF)

2. Change IPTV channel - I can view the channel

3. Turn the vpn on (servive state to ON) and allow it to connect

Just turn the VPN off then on again does not work.

I can now change channels and view them all. I can now see the traffic going up on the VPN Status page.

Any thoughts or idea on what I may have done wrong to have to do this every time?

UPDATE

Setting the router to use Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) seems to have resolved the issue.

Not sure why though?

Make sure you have DNS mode set to "Exclusive" on your OpenVPN client page. Your tunnel might be preventing your ISP DNS from working.

Cheers. Yes, I had and still have that set to Exclusive.

It seems it was all down to which VPN server I chose to connect to.

Either the speeds from the IPVanich server wasn't up to the task, or that server is blocked by the IPTV provider. I don't know which, but when I find a server that works, then my "issues" disappear.
