Thecus’ 4-bay N4350 NAS is the company’s updated version of its previous N4310 model. Upgraded to a dual-core Marvell Armada 388 SoC (up to 1.8 GHz) and 1 GB of DDR4 memory, the new NAS was designed to be a low-power consuming, affordable storage solution for home, small-, and medium-sized businesses.

Physical interfaces for the N4350 include one gigabit Ethernet LAN port and two USB 3.0 ports for external storage support.

Powered by Thecus OS7, N4350 includes several options for data protection and storage management, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD support, remote backup, replication, hooks to Amazon S3, and thin provisioning. Thecus OS7’s App Center also adds a collection of apps for today’s digital lifestyle, as well as OS features like Photo Center, File Center and Plex media server support.

Mobile and remote users can also manage the N4350 via apps: Thecus Connect for live access to the unit, Thecus Wizard for configuration, and a P2P module called Orbweb.me for file access and streaming.

Thecus didn’t give an exact price for the N4350, but the company said the updated NAS will cost under $300, with shipments starting in September.
