Suggestions for lightning protection for Cable Modem?

New Around Here
Hey all,

I've got my home network up and running nicely (thanks to some very helpful guidance from here, btw), but I've run into another question. I have ComCast business internet (12Mbps basic plan), and I'm wondering about the best way to provide solid surge protection on the incoming cable.

Previously, I had DSL, so plugging the incoming phone line into a decent surge protector worked well. But I am at a loss as to how to do this with the RG6 coax. Unlike with a DSL phone-line signal, I'm worried about using a surge protector setup like that for fear of degrading the incoming signal which I understand is a lot twitchier with cable than with DSL. So . . . what equipment do pros/data centers/etc. use to protect such systems on cable?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. At the moment I'm physically unplugging the cable during storms, but there will come a time what I'm not home for one . . .

EDIT: Just for information, my Comcast gateway is showing downstream SNR at 37.63 db or thereabouts.

Thanks,
-Tuthmose
