Can someone help me switch my Asus RT-AC86U back from repeater mode to router mode through shell commands?
I am able to ssh into my router but I cannot access the graphical web user interface. That's why I need to switch back through shell.
Much appreciated!

Wouldn't that require me to reconfigure everything on the router from scratch?
I'm really trying to avoid that.

Found it.

Bash:
nvram set sw_mode=1

After that, restart the router and there's only some minor reconfiguration required: WLAN SSIDs and LAN IP. That's all.

Why are you trying to avoid a full/proper reset?

There is no correlation between Router mode and Repeater mode. The settings used (and depended on) by the router are very different.
