Hi,

Is it normal for syslog-ng to consume this much from the memory?

On certain models, yes. My 86U is 155m. No satisfactory explanation; syslog-ng memory usage is supposed to be a combination of how many destinations you specify and what the queue depth is, but you can't get to these numbers that way.

understood.

i'll monitor for now as i think it's still growing. i worry that there is something wrong :(

It has been discussed a lot. You don't need to worry about it. You can look at Tools menu and see the total amount of free RAM (=Buffers + Cache + Free = AVAILABLE Free RAM)

I had an RT-AX88u and it is usually at 97%. It starts arount 54-60% but in a few hours / days is around 94-97%. But if I looked at Tools menu ... the Buffers + Cache + Free is around 40%

Hi Figorr,

i appreciate your explanation, it did calm me down haha!
i checked mine and it has 40% free memory by adding those.

apologize if i did not see other threads related to this.

thank you!
