Just picked up an RT-N66U and after flashing to 3.0.0.4.270 I noticed that the system log has been flooded with these messages every 7 or so minutes from each connected client...

Mar 5 23:00:07 dnsmasq-dhcp[502]: DHCPINFORM(br0) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Mar 5 23:00:07 dnsmasq-dhcp[502]: DHCPACK(br0) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx name
Mar 5 23:02:49 dnsmasq-dhcp[502]: DHCPINFORM(br0) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Mar 5 23:02:49 dnsmasq-dhcp[502]: DHCPACK(br0) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx name
Mar 5 23:09:44 dnsmasq-dhcp[502]: DHCPINFORM(br0) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Mar 5 23:09:44 dnsmasq-dhcp[502]: DHCPACK(br0) xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx name

(There's hours of this so here's just a small clip of the log with IP's and MAC's x'd out)

Any ideas why this is happening or perhaps how to resolve it?

I am using the same firmware version, mine is flooded with:

the whole log is filled with these. Anyone knows why?

It has to do with the VPN server.. check these threads to find the solution. basically Disable Broadcast support on the VPN page.

Hi,

Under LAN / DHCP Server you can disable "Log DHCP queries" and the messages will be gone.

With kind regards
Joe

That option is only available in my firmware.

On latest firmware is this option now called: Hide DHCP/RA queries? Yes/No options?
