Hi,
does anybody faced this issue on Merlin?
Code:
WLAN AutoConfig service failed to connect to a wireless network.

Network Adapter: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165
Interface GUID: XXX
Connection Mode: Automatic connection with a profile
Profile Name: XXX
SSID: XXX
BSS Type: Infrastructure
Failure Reason:The driver disconnected while associating.
RSSI: 255

There are plenty of threads about this error in the web but nothing applicable to me.
I face this issue after automatic scheduled reboots usually. When I re-reboot again, the connection process goes fine, so I assume it is not driver problem.

Interesting. You drop the link to the legacy 2016 Intel drivers. You propose to stick to old drivers instead of latest?

Yes, because they are the most recent "driver-only" packages. Everything after that point is the full PROSet suite that includes unnecessary additional software. I experienced instability with the 3165 with the full PROSet software installed, using the driver-only solved that. Unfortunately Intel doesn't supply the driver-only now. There may be a way of extracting it from the PROSet package but I haven't looked.

It's possible that later or earlier versions of PROSet will fix your problem, but in my experience every Intel release is a lottery.

It's just like HP and most of the other manufacturers that preload a crapload of useless software on their devices.
Get rid of it and you'll have a stable system.
