Thecus announced the launch of its newest 5-bay NAS, the N5810 that offers optimized performance with an advanced set of features for both home and business users. The N5810 features an Intel Celeron processor J1900 Quad Core 2.0 GHz SoC and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM that can be expanded to 8GB for further performance optimization.

“The N5810 provides an ideal solution for home and business users who require an economical, high performance storage solution that can offer an expansive set of features to satisfy the needs of a wide range of user segments,” said Florence Shih, CEO at Thecus Technology Corp. “With advanced data protection and security mechanisms as well as convenient scalability, the N5810 is designed to meet the evolving demands of data storage.”

The N5810 is an advanced yet affordable network storage solution, providing up to 213 mb/s read and 186 write speeds with 2 Gigabit LAN ports. The N5810 supports 7 modes of link aggregation and System Failover creating data, network, and system redundancy, minimizing disruptions in workflow and increasing operational efficiency.

Addressing the growing demands for efficient storage in business environments, the N5810 comes with essential business applications including support for VMware®, Citrix®, and Microsoft Hyper-V®; cross-platform support for MAC®, Windows®, and Linux/UNIX users; Windows AP and LDAP for user authorization; bundled Acronis and Intel Security; and a complete backup solution including Snapshot using Btrfs for point-in-time backups, real-time remote replication and cloud backup to ElephantDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3.

The N5810 runs on the intuitive, easy-to-use Thecus OS5 operating system. The re-tooled software includes VPN Server for secure remote access and Disk Clone and Wipe for convenient data management. Users will also be able to enjoy a comprehensive set of entertainment features facilitated by HDMI output and Kodi for multimedia playback and mobile access with the powerful Thecus mobile app, T-OnTheGo.

Availability: Units will begin shipping globally at the end of November, 2015
