I'm thinking about getting it. Currently use the EdgeRouter X for the past 6 months or so and its been great! Its just lacking BW monitoring extremely badly. And now that I have a 100mbps connection I'd like to monitor it a little more. I do use SNMP with my EdgeRouter but I do miss the ASUSWRT firmware. I miss the day by day BW usage and easy Live and 24 hour graphs for BW usage.
Router will mostly just be needed as a router due to already having access points throughout the house for WiFi. Might make use of the Guest Network though.
Here is my network short story: 20+ give or take wireless devices as any given time. Several smart phones, Smart WiFi Devices (Light Bulbs, Plugs, etc) A few WiFi Security cameras, FreePBX, NAS, and so on. So it needs to handle things stably.
I do have a AC68U at a Gym and its shown to be quite stable except the few times where you have to reboot due to weird WiFi Speed problems on the Guest Network and unable to access the interface without doing a reboot (Which would get annoying real fast on my home network) and it sees hundreds of WiFi devices a day.
I will need Download QoS Which will be set around 100Mbps, Don't need upload QoS.
My problem why I left ASUS routers awhile back was stock firmware Upload QoS never worked correctly. I've only had 2mbps up for the past 5 years. And without upload QoS it would kill the connection while uploading something. BUT for some reason the stock firmware even set upload QoS to 256k up and it would limit it just fine but bufferbloat/high ping was there. (Worked fine when running tomato) But now I no longer need upload QoS but need download QoS.
Anyone use this router or similar and use QoS with 100mbps or more?
Thanks!
