TP-Link TL-SG105E - Power saving problems

Hi again,

So as I stated in a fairly recen thread, I've purchased this Gigabit Switch from TP-Link which, almost all of this line, are advertised as "green". What I understand is that it puts to standby the ports that are not used or when the pc connected gets to standby or something. But, when this happens somehow I can't seem to get the connection back until I reboot the switch.

Is this problem common with this type of switches or did I just purchased the worst brand ever ? I hate when I make the wrong choises.

Thank you.

PS: I have realtek gigabit adapters on my pc's.

I wouldnt put my faith in tp-link for advanced features. Ive seen others having trouble with tplink when using it for something other than basic.

Try see if there are firmware updates.

You can also try enabling wake on lan for your PC from shut down.

To check if power save really works use a wattmeter.
